The Orange PeeL
The Orange Peel Social
Aid and Pleasure Club, a very popular destination for indie
bands as well as mainstream acts in Asheville, North Carolina
has permanently installed an Adamson Y18 Line Source Array system.
The venue, which holds 942 people is relatively problem free,
straight-forward, and sized for “intimate” shows. No side or
down fills were needed - 4 Y18’s were flown per side.
Since the install, acts such as Jurassic 5, Bob Dylan, Ben Harper,
The Flaming Lips and Arcade Fire have graced the Orange Peel
stage. Dan Cochran, the house FOH engineer commented: “People
are always glad to come back and play here because they love
the rig” and added: “It’s a great sounding rig that takes a
lot of punishment when needed and still delivers for all types
of performances.”
The Adamson Y18’s came highly recommended
by Simon Fraser from Kingston Audio in New Orleans who also
did the design for the venue. The final decision on Adamson
was made based on power and price. This was the first permanent
Install at The Orange Peel: “And I can tell you, I was here
during the install and everyone has been impressed with the
rig since it came off the truck!” Dan Cochran concluded.
