Trius Makes a Move to Become Adamson Distributor for the German & Austrian Markets
March 13, 2008

Trius was founded 20 years ago by Mr. Guenther Zierenberg with a focus on importing for the Musical Instrument Market from the USA. In 1999 Trius was sold to Hubert Dierselhuis, a 5 year veteran as a Trius Sales Manager and former HiFi / Home Cinema company owner. Over the years Hubert transformed Trius into the première German distributor for both the Musical Instruments and the Pro Audio markets. Today Trius has 18 employees and 5 independent Sales Reps. Apart from the standard departments like sales, warehousing, order processing and accounting, Trius have their own graphics, marketing and internet departments as well as 3 technicians in their service department.

Kai Boeckmann, General Manager of Operations at Trius, learned his business skills from scratch working at a music store, selling everything from guitars to small and medium PA systems. 10 years ago he joined Trius as a product manager, and later got promoted to sales manager, as Hubert Dierselhuis took over Trius.

Trius personnel include Sven Boehnke, who performs technical support functions for touring and installation applications. As a freelance technician he was on tour with several acts all over Europe and even in China. Over the years he came in touch with almost every major sound system, which makes him a very valuable person when it comes to market analysis and technology comparisons. In the past two years Sven has been responsible for the organization of many kinds of sound system demos for Trius.

Boeckman admits that “Technically speaking, we’ve always considered Adamson the biggest and most dangerous competitor for L-Acoustics, so we have had an eye on Adamson literally since the moment we took on L’Acoustics about 7 years ago. But when asked about what lead to the final decision to take Adamson on for the German and Austrian Markets, he states his excellent relationship with Adamson’s European Sales Manager Andy Weingaertner as the starting point: “A truly excellent relationship with Andy started the ball rolling, which was followed by a visit to the factory in Canada and the subsequent meetings with their staff confirmed our positive feelings.”

Trius’ long-term goal for the Adamson brand in Germany is nothing short of ambitious: “We are looking forward to elevating the brand’s presence in our territory to be at the top, and open the fixed installation market for the Adamson product range.” Existing Adamson Partners in Germany include hire companies Satis & Fy, Meading Events Technologies and Signon Productions as well as a permanent SpekTrix installation in the infamous Domicil venue in Dortmund.

“Together with Trius, we have put together a complete German strategy. The first phase was finishing a German language Adamson full-line catalogue. The catalogue is now complete and being distributed beginning at the Pro Light + Sound Tradeshow. We are following it shortly with a translation of our website at www.adamsonproaudio.de and finally with the technical documentation. Everyone here at Adamson feels the benefits of working with such a proactive organization like Trius. We look forward to what comes next.” Comments Adamson’s Director of Marketing & Sales Jesse Adamson.
