Adamson at
Victoires de la Musique Awards
April 12, 2004
Once again,
Adamson line arrays were the system of choice at the 2004 Victoires
de la Musique awards ceremony, presented at the Złnith in Paris
on February 28, 2004 to an audience of 4,000. Recognized as
the French equivalent to the Grammys, the event was broadcast
live on France2 Television and France Inter Broadcasting, reaching
a potential 10 million European music fans.
Silence, the Paris-based
television sound company managed by Gilles Hugo, was retained
for the event and specified an Adamson system, which was supplied
by Lagoona Paris.
The main L/R system was comprised of four
Y18s, six Y10s and four Y10 Subs per side, with four SX Subs
used to provide additional low frequency support. An array of
eight Y10s was flown at centre stage; and Adamson's SpekTrix
ultra-compact line-source system was used for outfills (six
SpekTrix per side) and lip-fills (four stacks of two SpekTrix
on front of stage). The rig was controlled with XTA processing
and powered by Lab.gruppen amps.
Among the international artists
performing at the show were the groups Kyo and Mickey 3D, with
each band receiving multiple awards during the ceremony. Other
performers who walked away winners that night included Pascal
Obispo, Cesaria Evora and newcomer Carla Bruni, a former supermodel
whose debut album Quelqu'un m'a dit (Somebody Said to Me) was
the surprise success story of last year, selling over one and
a half million copies.
